Phytosanitary clearance

Phytosanitary clearance in European ports

Importing plants, plant products and packaging materials into the EU is subject to strict phytosanitary checks. We take care of the clearance in Hamburg, Bremerhaven, Trieste and Antwerp, from registering the shipment through the move to inspection to storage.

What we handle

From entry documents to storage

We cover phytosanitary clearance in full: issuing entry documents, the logistics around the inspection and storage of goods in approved warehouses.

  • CHED-D and CHED-PP entry documents

We issue CHED-D for food of non-animal origin and feed (certificate C678) and CHED-PP for plants, plant products and wooden packaging materials (C085).

  • Moves to inspection and sampling

We arrange moving the container to the site of the phytosanitary inspection, sampling and transhipment of goods.

  • Wooden packaging and supervised disposal

We issue the entry control document for wooden packaging from risk countries and arrange transhipment as well as disposal of goods under customs supervision.

  • Storage in approved warehouses

We store the goods in authority-approved warehouses until phytosanitary clearance is complete.

  • Advisory and shipment-specific solutions

We look at each shipment individually: we advise on the procedure and look for the solution that delays it the least.

  • Direct link to phytosanitary authorities

We have a direct link to the phytosanitary authorities in Hamburg, Bremerhaven, Trieste and Antwerp. We have ten years of experience with customs clearance; our customers include some of the largest logistics and transport companies.

  • Follow-up services after the inspection

After the phytosanitary inspection we can follow up with further services as needed: the T1 transit document, customs storage or customs clearance.

How it works

From inquiry to shipment clearance

We guide you through the whole process and keep you informed as it progresses. Thanks to a direct link to the port authorities we handle inspections without needless back and forth.

Step 01

Inquiry

You tell us about the shipment you need phytosanitary clearance for and send copies of the documents. Once agreed, you deliver the originals, for example health certificates and fumigation declarations.

Step 02

Registration with the phytosanitary authority

We register the shipment with the relevant phytosanitary authority.

Step 03

Inspection slot and paperwork

We arrange the inspection slot with the authority and handle the paperwork, including moving the container and any sampling. We keep you informed as it progresses.

Step 04

Clearance completed

Once the inspection is successfully completed, we close the administration and hand over the complete documents, including the CHED entry document. The shipment can continue on its way.
